Thank you to everyone who visited Beechwood Studios last month as part of the annual “Art in June Kent” open studios fortnight, and made it such a huge success. It was our fifth year, and we were really touched by all the compliments on the quality and breath of the exhibition.
My next exhibition will be at BAF, the Benenden Art Fair from Fri 3 Oct ( an evening preview) to Sun 5th. Now a very well established Art Show, there will be over 30 artists and creators. It is my first time exhibiting and given the tough competition I am thrilled to have been selected.
It is a super showing well worth visiting.
Acquiring art is very much about finding something that resonates, a piece that has a heart and a story. Whether you are looking for art for your own home or perhaps for a gift, an original piece of art offers the opportunity to own something special and unique.
Here you will find the perfect place to:
-browse an eclectic selection of art
-buy original works, in oils and acrylics, at prices from £100 to £600
-own art framed in high quality handmade solid oak and ash frames
-commission a unique painting to suit a particular space in your home.
Why buy original art? To me it is all about that piece that talks to you, about finding a painting that resonates, one that you think would be perfect on a wall in your home. The ultimate pleasure for me is seeing a client drawn to a painting that I have had joy in creating. I hope you enjoy my art and the energy within each piece.
I appreciate it can be hard to know if a painting seen on a website is right for you, and I can assure you that seeing the original work for real is so much more exciting! So if you live within a 20 mile radius of Westerham, and wish to see the art in your own home before buying, I am happy to deliver my art for you to try. Or you can collect and try it in your home “on approval”.
And finally to give you confidence here are some recent customer messages :

I am inspired by the coast—its shifting light, quiet drama, and the way water and sand are always in motion. Painting seascapes lets me explore those rhythms, capturing moments that feel both familiar and fleeting.
Though we often think of the sea as blue, the colours are so much more: soft greens, silvery greys, deep purples, and the warm glow of ochre and rust. Shadows can surprise with their richness.
Each painting is framed in handmade natural wood. I have inclis part of my evolving art journey.
Another in my series of the wide open space of the Camel Estuary, Cornwall.
Oil on canvas 70cm × 70cm
A quiet abstraction of the fishing harbour at Whitstable, where geometry anchors the rhythms of the tides. Lines stretch and shift like moorings in motion, tethering sky to sea, structure to shadow.
Oil on stretched canvas
53cm x 53cm framed.
An abstraction oils of coast and sea, I hope this cool , calm interpretation of coastal tones on a sunny day resonates , and that you feel the energy.

Completing my series of coastal paintings exploring shapes and the gentle interaction of a limited palette of tonal colours.
Oil on stretched canvas 53cm x 53cm.
Winter days bring mists and calm to the Margate coast. Part 1 of my new series of oils exploring the abstraction of shapes, tones and curves to create a sense of calming movement.
Oil on stretched canvas 53cm x 53cm
Inspired by early morning as the tide curved and flowed out past the harbour wall. No 2 of a new series of works.
Oil on canvas 53 x 53cm.
Soft muted tones on a rainy day, inspired by beached boats resting in the sand safe behind the harbour wall. No 3 of a new series of works.
Oil on canvas 53 x 53cm.

Early morning calm at the top of the tide, fishing rods set. No 4 of a my new series of works.
Oil on canvas 53 x 53cm.
I spotted this old rickety wooden pier in the Camel Estuary with the 3 small boats safe and secure, as a strong breeze sent wispy clouds scudding across the sky. A sense of sun and safety.
Oil on canvas board 38cm x 38cm
Gentle tones in the water from the clouds reflected on the wet sand , burnished with gold leaf.
Oil on stretched canvas. 45cm x 45cm
The glorious scenery and wide open space of the Camel Estuary, Cornwall.
Oil on canvas 85 × 85cm
A stormy day as clouds scudded across the skies inspired me to create this large work in shades of indigo, one of my favourite blues as it as so many hues. It would make a great statement piece in its own space.
Oil on stretched canvas 85cm x 85 cm
Three sailing boats leaving harbour and setting sail against cloudy reflections. I wanted to draw the eye to the sails and I think that the four layers of oils applied with brush and then palette knife, using a limited mix of tones, works really well to suggest the calm and constant power of the sea.
Oil on board 58cm x 70cm
Early morning and no one was about - so peaceful. The shadows of the old timbers reflect in the dark contour ridges of the distant hills.
Oil on stretched canvas 53cm x 53cm
The curves and shadows as the tide flowed out, and the reflections in the shallows inspired me to capture this transient moment in time.

Oil on stretched canvas 44cm x 54cm
A quiet morning walk down to the shore at Studland inspired this work - a light breeze rippled the water, reflecting the pale morning sunshine
Oil on stretched canvas 45cm x 45cm
I wanted to create an image of the sunshine of summer combined with the sea, and I think this really works here. A focal piece to light up a room!
Oil on stretched canvas 84cm x 84cm framed.
If only one could capture the sounds of the crashing waves ! Waves cascading and crashing, shingle whooshing back and forth. I really enjoyed working on this piece and hope that the image resonates with all who have sat on a beach, soaking up the energy of the endless blue rollers.
Oil on canvas 50cm x 65cm
Walking along the Cornish coast to Port Isaac, the overcast day enhanced the gentle tones of the houses that, when viewed from above the harbour, seemed to melt into the colours of the sea as it lapped on the slipway. Classic evocative Cornwall!
Oil on Board 46cm x 64cm
The iconic Seven Sisters, always a joy to walk and a joy to paint! Oil on stretched canvas 36cm x 47cm
Under blue summer skies I was captivated by the almost geometric clouds reflected in gentle shapes on the sea. So peaceful and quiet, walking in the early morning. A couple with their dog on the beach, with three sail boats gently sailing in the distance. It was so relaxing, and this is that calm day, captured and framed!
Oil on canvas 41cm x 41cm
Walking along the Oare Estuary I found wrecks of old abandoned boat hulls lying half submerged in the mudflats. On a misty autumn morning as the sky merged into the watery landscape their sculptural curves and shadows resonated with times past and I wanted to record their forgotten history.
Oil on board 75 x 60cm framed

In this collection, abstract expression meets the natural world. Inspired by the countryside that surrounds me, my landscapes capture the shifting moods of nature—mist rising over quiet fields, the warmth of late afternoon sun, or the stillness of cool, blue mornings. My palette moves freely from soft neutrals to vibrant bursts of color, interpreting not just how a place looks, but how it feels. These paintings are less about topography and more about memory, emotion, and the quiet drama of open spaces.
My art is framed in hand made natural wood frames. Art at the bottom of the page represents some of my recently sold work and commissions.
Oil on stretched canvas
80cm × 80cm framed
A gentle abstract landscape - the delicate balance of a world suspended in early morning stillness before the new day wakes up, inviting the viewer to linger in the space between light and memory.
I live on a hill and there have been quite a few mornings this spring when the early morning mists have settled gently in the fields below. It’s an incredibly peaceful time of day. Creating the underpainting, then building layer on layer was a delight, capturing the moment as the mist drifted down the valley before the sun burnt if off. Taking pleasure in the slow moments of life.

My vibrant flower art reflects an unleashing of a more playful side to my art. They refresh my creativity. “Cuban Belle” – Limited Edition Fine Art Archival Quality Authenticated Giclee’ Print Series
Timeless curves, faded chrome, and a whole lot of soul.
Cuban Belle is a bold, expressive tribute to the iconic American classics found on the streets of Havana—where the paint may have peeled, but the charm runs deep.
This close-up oil painting focuses on the front end of a vintage car, showcasing its rust-worn body and brilliant headlamp with dramatic contrast and textured brushwork. The layers of colour (cobalt blues, burnt oranges, and dusty greens) capture the effect of time and tropical sun, turning decay into beauty.
There’s a nostalgic romance in the rust, a sense of stories long driven. This piece speaks to endurance, elegance, and the unmistakable charisma of Cuba’s rolling relics.
Available as a 40cm x 50cm mounted limited edition giclée print, Cuban Belle adds bold colour and vintage flair to any interior—perfect for car lovers, travel dreamers, or anyone drawn to timeless style with an edge.
Painting people is like looking through a window into the soul. A fleeting expression, a tilt of the head—faces can speak volumes without a single word. I’m endlessly fascinated by the subtle tones of skin—blues, greys, and unexpected greens—and how eyes can convey everything from strength and joy to sorrow and silence.
There’s a quiet poetry in the folds of clothing, the way fabric shifts in the wind, and yes, the wonderfully surprising shapes of noses and ears. Portraits are always a challenge—but one I find completely absorbing.
A return to portrait painting using my favourite technique - minimal oil colours (only three) and some wipeout techniques can be so effective.
She stands tall, radiating power and confidence with a gaze of determination and independence. The subtle play of light highlights her strong jawline to suggest a quiet self-assurance. embodying the essence of a woman who is indeed a free spirit.

I had been wanting to create a Frida Kahlo portrait for ages and decided that this icon of Mexican folk art warranted the richness of a Klimt gold background and some flamboyant flowers and clothes. A little time consuming but fun to collate.
